justin spicer Recorded before the pandemic, Drifting Toward the Absolute feels heavily attached to the impending loss we all have endured (if you believe in theories such as “Jesus, Etc.” being prophetic about 9/11) but also largely removed from it. Yet, it does not feel like a work of art unscathed. Rather, in its lilting synths, guitar pickings, and looping tapes, there is a haunted visage. Favorite track: Among The Magnolias.
